YOUTH SERVICE AMERICA (YSA) is a resource center that partners with thousands of organizations committed to increasing the quality and quantity of volunteer opportunities for young people, ages 5-25, to serve locally, nationally, and globally. Founded in 1986, YSA’s mission is to expand the impact of the youth service movement with communities, schools, corporations, and governments. YSA envisions a global culture of engaged youth who are committed to a lifetime of service, learning, leadership and achievement. Our Programming Organizing Public Policy and Awareness Campaigns - Global Youth Service Day , the largest service event in the world, mobilizes youth to address the needs of their communities through service while also educating the public, media, and policymakers about their year-round contributions.
- Youth Voice Initiative supports the YSA National Youth Council, a group of young leaders from all over the United States, and helps organizations, adults, and young people work as partners toward youth engagement in all aspects of service.
- National and Community Service Advocacy promotes youth service in the political process and engages youth and their elected officials in creating long-lasting change.
