YSA's ServiceVote campaign mobilizes and supports young people to be civically engaged as advocates addressing the issues they care about in all areas of civic life.
ServiceVote 2008 Campaign
Step 1: Pick what type of event you want to organize.
Plan an event that is a combination of a service project & election activity.
(Or just do the election activity AS a service project.)
There are many types of election events. You can:
Engage other voters.
Conduct a voter registration drive.
Host a voter education event. (an issues fair, a debate watch, canvassing/door-knocking)
Get out the vote - make sure people go to the polls on Election Day.
Engage candidates.
Host a service stop, debate, forum, or candidate fair. (Or attend another event with the candidate.)
Organize a letter writing, phone call, or e-mail campaign.
Create a candidate survey or service pledge.
Voice your opinion.
As a group, write lots of op-eds/letters to the editor or call in to radio or tv talkshows.
Step 2: Choose when to have your event.
Choose one of the following days to have your event.
